5 Gaming Conventions You Don’t Want to Miss

There’s nothing better than getting together with a group of people who are all excited about the same things you are. And if you’re a gamer, you’re lucky enough to have tons of opportunities to do just that!

Whether you want to try out new games before they’re released, hear from industry experts, let out your competitive side, or just hang out with your fellow geeks, there’s a gaming conference for you. Keep reading for five must-visit conventions happening for the rest of the year and into 2020!

Gaming Conventions to Attend

1. DreamHack

Are you a competitive Esports player? Do you live in (or want to travel to) North America or Europe? Then head on over to one of the seven DreamHack conferences happening this summer and fall.

Be a part of one of the world’s largest bring-your-own-computer LAN party, watch live musical performances, or cosplay your favorite game characters. DreamHack has something for every Esports enthusiast, so join the other 300,000 attendees for the time of your life.

2. PAX West

The Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) is one of the most highly attended gaming events on the West Coast. It began in 2004 when the writers of the Penny Arcade web comic decided they wanted to attend a conference dedicated exclusively to gaming, and it’s grown exponentially since then.

PAX West is happening in Seattle from August 30th through September 2nd. This conference also caters to tabletop gamers and has an area for videogame free play.

3. eSports Business Summit

Networking, education, and inspiration—that’s what the 2019 ESports Business Summit promises to deliver over three days. This is the best gaming convention for business managers and multimedia marketers, Esports leagues, investors, and enthusiasts to mingle and learn from each other.

Plus, Hartford Technology Rental will be exhibiting at the Summit, taking place in Las Vegas on September 10 – 12. Come visit us at Booth 612 to see the latest MSI gaming desktop rentals and gaming laptop rentals.

4. BlizzCon

Players of Esports and MMORPGs have been looking forward to this year’s BlizzCon (Nov 1-2, 2019 at the Anaheim Convention Center) with great anticipation. Many people are hoping that this year’s crop of games will make up for the controversial 2018 Diablo release.

PC Gamers should head over to BlizzCon for Starcraft, WOW, Diablo, and Hearthstone previews. Overwatch players can join or view the Overwatch World Cup competition. And if you get there a day early, you can partake in the BlizzCon Pregame Festivities and hang out with other conference attendees before the show begins.

5. Game Developers Conference

If you’re interested in the behind-the-scenes details of game design and development, you’ll love GDC in March of 2020. This event is the oldest, largest game development conference in existence—this upcoming event is the 34th installment.

Come for lectures and panels, development tutorials, and the Independent Games Festival. This event is also a fabulous networking opportunity if you’re hoping to build connections in the gaming industry.
