Bordered on one side by Trinity Park and the Trinity River, the Cultural District is home to The Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, Kimbell Art Museum, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Casa Manana Theatre, Fort Worth Community Arts Center, Omni IMAX Dome Theater and Fort Worth Opera. All of these Cultural District venues double as event space. Two other attractions are the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and, ever popular, the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame.
Fort Worth is chiefly served by the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), which pretty much connects to every likely destination in the U.S. as well as many international points via nonstops or direct flights. It is approximately 20 miles northeast of the Cultural District.
For such a relatively small area, the Cultural District has its own convention center, the sprawling, historical, celebrated Will Rogers Memorial Center, Equestrian Center and the Will Rogers Coliseum, home of the Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show,
Hotel venues in the Cultural District are sparse but Fort Worth has approximately 13,000 in total, and of course, nearby, there are Dallas and Irvine, home of the sprawling, 1511-room Gaylord Texan Hotel & Convention Center.
